A red circle with the letters 'SVR'... what an exciting logo, huh?
1998-99 Winter Series

Predicted Time Four Miler
Winter Series Race #2
Frederick County Middle School, Winchester, VA
Saturday 19 December 1998

The predictions were made, the watches were collected, and in the end, three participants of the Predicted Time Four Miler managed to guess their times within one second! Congratulations to Greg Elwood, Carol Flax, and Dee Dee Valiasky for their amazing powers of prognostication. Maybe they could let the Webmaster know what this week's Pick Four numbers will be.

Adding some excitement to the race was the trio of Jim Shaughnessy, Bill Senseney, and Rick Kerby, who finished the race within five seconds of each other. (Rick's failing effort was undoubtedly the cause of the Achilles injury which crept up on him in the days following the race. It certainly had nothing to do with the Webmaster, as he would have you believe!) Also putting in an impressive performance at the Four Miler was young Dustin Sweeney, whose running skills have improved tremendously since last year's Winter Series. And Toni Cruz must be singled out for having stopped to dance with the Webmaster at the halfway point. Thanks, Toni!
