Writes Neal Riemenschneider, "Participants were bused out into the countryside. When they got off the bus, Race Director Chris Northrup pointed them in the opposite direction and said, 'You run that way, I'll see you back at the school.' Winners were determined by those guessing closest to the actual length of the course. Due to the recent bad weather, the course had to be shortened to 3.75 miles. Jim Shaughnessy, Sandy Adams and Stan Brooks all guessed the exact distance correctly. Everyone was relieved that Chris wasn't driving the bus." Mark Stickley put in a rare appearance at this race, presumably to promote his upcoming Stickman's Family Run 5K. He defeated everyone handily. Also sighted was Winter Series Director Kim Weisgerber, who has missed four out of six Winter Series races so far. Apparently she is too good for the likes of small town folk like us, or something... |
