Look! It's snowing in the SVR logo! SVR Winter Series 2000-2001

Final Women's Age Group Standings

2000-2001 Winter Series
Winter Series in review
Final men's standings: overall, age groups
Final women's standings: overall, age groups
At the end of the series, awards were given to the top runner in each age group (provided that they were not in the top five overall). Runners had to finish at least five races and be SVR members by 1 March 2001 to be eligible for the age group awards. Due to space considerations, this page includes eligible runners only; head to the women's standings page to see everybody's totals. Names of SVR members below appear with a reddish-pink background. As with the overall awards, each runner's seven best point totals counted towards their final score, so those runners with perfect attendance had their single lowest score thrown out. The "-1" column shows the final point tally.

Tip: If you are using the right Web browser, you can hover your mouse over the column headings below ("WS1", "WS2", etc.) to see the name and date of the race in question.

2.Audrey Lawrence2916  25 283213013019th
Even though the Immortal Katie Farrell was injured, Polly Barks didn't show up enough, and Audrey Lawrence was a bit on the young side, this year's girls' 13 & under age group was destined to be dominated by the Moore sisters, Christina and Melissa. Both took home series awards, with Melissa's age group win enabled by Christina's top five finish overall. Good going, Mel!
Ineligible: Anna Cote, Katie Farrell, Polly Barks, Laurie Murphy, Laura Daniels, Cecelia Osowski, Lauren Pugh, Molly McMillen, Jessie Daniels

1.Anna Lawrence3834403534 34362512519th
Second-year Winter Series runner Anna Lawrence had this award locked up after the seventh race, thanks to her solid performances (as well as Rachel Eisenfeld's top five finish). Yay Anna!
Ineligible: Emily Harrison, Lauren Allen, Michelle Shultz, Kristin Novara, Mary Naylor, Deanna Melton

Female 17-19
Though we had a lot of great girls performances this winter, our club seems to lack enough 17- to 19-year-olds...
Ineligible: Michelle VanHorn, Leslie Grant, Leslie Lawson

1.Beth Keeley3228 273038363422522512th
 Jen Peachey3330 283137333322522512th
I guess I shouldn't have alerted Jen Peachey and Beth Keeley to the fact that if Beth finished the final race one position ahead of Jen, they would tie for this award. The two ran Claymont together, then went into a highly suspicious sprint at the end. Having seen Jen's final kick at a number of races, there was little doubt that she could've at least challenged Beth for the win... but there was Jen, a few steps behind Beth and making no progress. Was the race fixed, or was it not? You make the call! Well, okay, so perhaps Beth & Jen deserved the tie, having finished a few of the earlier races together, too. Congrats to both of 'em!
Ineligible: Connie Miller-Mathews, Amy Castle, Caitlin Riley, Hope Morris, Leigh Brown, Caroline Pratt, Cynthia Efremoff, Christina Hart, Amy Dzien, Leanna Joyner, Melanie Marks

4.Jeannette Harden3024362528  2917217217th
Despite missing two of the eight races, that speedy Heather Kremer still gathered up enough points to top her age group! Tracy Rice left things open for Heather by finishing in the top five. This age group also saw good performances from Julie Kerby and Jeannette Harden. And Kim Weisgerber-Craig only ran five races but ended up with a high point total, too.
Ineligible: Vicky Krossman, Ann Robb, Cheryl Harrison, Laura Nelson, Nancy Gauthier, Tammi DeSimone, Edith Messmacher, Beth Heick, Sarah Overstreet, Celeste Heath, Lorie Weimar, Kristina Sellers, Georgiana Pardo, Leesa Anderson, Kim Salata, Lynn Miller, Irene Barrett

3.Lynne Lawrence3733413326 373123823810th
Poor Nancy Specht, just barely missing out on a top five finish. But hey, no need to pity her, because she won her age group! The people for whom you should actually feel bad are Winter Series veterans Judy Masi and that nice Lynne Lawrence, the only two women who finished in the top thirteen overall but didn't win an award. Everyone knows how great Judy and Lynne are, though!
Ineligible: Gabby Vaughn, Margaret Horioka, Laurie Volk, Elizabeth Scholder, Kathy Fromme, Nancy Demangone, Jill Allen, Robin Damico, Sheri Kreuz, Susan Daniels

Female 50-59

With Sandy Adams taking second overall, we had to toss this award in the fireplace. Nobody else ran enough races!
 Ineligible: Kathy Smart, Colleen Larsen
